Page 1, S5-481A; S6-65C 数多ある 教を救ふ教こそ メシヤの宣らす教なりけり In a set of poems titled “The Messiah” in Gosanka Poems, Revised, page 29 (#127), May 28, 1951. This poem is problematic in Japanese because when it appeared in Inori no Shiori, it had been altered in two fundamental places. The different variations of this poem are appended after the S6-65C translation. Please remember that Meishu-sama wrote two variations of this poem and that the alteration made in the last word of NARIKERI to NARIKERE is the correction of a mistake in classical Japanese grammar. More egregious are the changes made to two words that Meishu-sama used in both versions, changing SUKUU, or “to save,” to IKASU, or “to give life to,” and changing MESHIYA, or “The Messiah,” to MIROKU, or “Miroku” expressed in Chinese ideograms that Meishu-sama never used but which make Miroku seem like a Shinto deity. What should be kept in mind is that all the Mainland and the Hawaii English versions are based on the altered Japanese-language versions. | ||
