  東方の 光は已に赫々と 昇り初めけり知るや知らずや

Whether it is
Perceived or not,
Brilliant rays
Have begun to rise,
The light from the east.

    東の 御空の果し紅々と 今し昇りぬ朝日子の光
212   The rays of the
Morning sun have
Begun to rise shining
Brightly red on the
Bounds of the eastern sky.

雲の幕 サツと開けば大日光 輝き出でけり眩ゆきまでに

213   Curtains of clouds
Suddenly open and
Shine forth the
Rays of the sun,
So brilliant are they!
