Johrei and the Trinity of the Bodily Organs

The most important functions within the physical body for the maintenance of human life are those provided by the heart, lungs, and the stomach. These three organs are governed by the three elements of fire, water, earth which I mention elsewhere in my works, and here I would like to explain about the relationship between these elements and these three organs.
Fire corresponds to the heart; water, to the lungs; and earth, to the stomach. Specifically, the heart absorbs the spirit of fire. The lungs take in the spirit of water, and the stomach draws in the spirit of earth. The explanation about these organs and their functions by medical science, however, has continued to be insufficient. Its explanation that impure blood is purified through the oxygen that is absorbed by the lungs is not complete and ignores the most essential function. What I teach now has been revealed to me by God and must start with reference to the spiritual world. The world of spirit is a reality not perceptible to the five human senses and for most people does not exist but is indeed the source of all in the universe. Reality cannot be understood until this truth is grasped.
That fire burns on account of water, and that the flow of water depends on fire is a principle I mention often and it is the key to resolving the mysteries of creation. As a premise for understanding the invisible world of spirit, I start with a description of the atmosphere. Modern science says that the atmosphere is composed of oxygen and this is what I call the spirit of fire. Hydrogen is the spirit of water, and nitrogen is the spirit of earth. These three elements constitute a trinity that is the essence of all in creation. The mysterious activity of these three elements provides the flexibility for living things to adjust themselves to extreme heat, extreme cold, and temperate climates. Suppose that the spirit of water were taken from the earth, everything would explode in an instant. If the spirit of fire disappeared, everything would suddenly freeze. If the spirit of earth did not exist, all would collapse and become nothing.
This is truth. When we ponder this truth, we see the significance of the functions of the heart, lungs, and stomach. The heart absorbs the spirit of fire from the spiritual world, and this activity is reflected in the beating of the heart. The lungs take in the spirit of water in the action of breathing. The spirit of the earth is drawn in by the stomach from the physical world by the action of swallowing. Next, I will described how this works.
The cause of all disease is solidified toxins in the physical body, and heat is necessary to dissolve these toxins. Dissolving solidified toxins is the primary activity of the purifying process. Purification is a symptom of disease, and because great amounts of heat in the form of fever are necessary to dissolve hardened toxins at the time of illness, the heart beats more frequently in order to absorb the spirit of fire. Because heat concentrates in affected areas, other areas temporarily lose warmth and thus become chilled. Breathing becomes more frequent in order to help the action of the heart and to avoid dehydration, for which the lungs absorb large amounts of the spirit of water.
The source of the spirit of fire is, of course, the essence emitted from the sun. The spirit of water is the element emitted from the moon, and, the spirit of soil, from the earth.
Of the three organs, however, the primary one is the heart. The heart activates the lungs, and the lungs activate the stomach. This may be seen in the fact that even though the stomach may lack nourishment, human life is not in immediate danger, but not so with the lungs. Life may continue for one or two minutes without the workings of the lungs, but life is not possible for more than a few seconds without heart activity. Medical science does not mention the lungs or the stomach in relation to death, but the existence of the expression “heart attack” shows the importance of the heart.
When the physical body dies, the activity of the heart is the first to stop, and the spirit which until then had filled the body, the spirit of fire, leaves. The body gradually loses temperature, that is, heat. This loss occurs because, of course, the spirit of fire belongs to the spiritual world. When the lungs stop functioning, the spirit of water which had filled the body returns to the atmosphere, and the body begins to dehydrate. With the cessation of the stomach’s functions, eating becomes impossible, and the body begins to harden. All these facts corroborate my description of the spiritual aspects of the bodily functions.
Thus, the essence of the human body is composed of a trinity of the spirits of fire, water, and soil, so it is entirely reasonable that diseases of the human body can only be healed by a method that utilizes the power of this trinity. This is the principle of Johrei. We explain that Johrei is the power of Kannon and of course the power of Kannon is light that is transmitted from the Boddhisatva. But this is spiritual light, invisible to the human eye. The light of the sun or electric bulbs and lamps is a physical light that is visible to us. The essence of spiritual light is a fusion of fire and water. As the power or spirit of fire is added to this fusion, the stronger the light becomes. But the power of light that contains only fire and water is insufficient for healing the diseased human body. The spirit of earth is thus necessary. As the spirit of earth is added to the fusion, a complete trinitarian power is manifested that results in wonderful healing power. That light permeates the human body, eliminates the impurities of the spirit, and this purified condition is reflected to the material world, resulting in the healing of the physical body.
Specifically, this is how the process works. I write the ideogram for “light” on a large-size piece of paper, fold the paper up and put it in a bag. The spirit of the energy of the light permeates and condenses on my hand and from my hand is conveyed to the brush, and on to the paper. What actually occurs is difficult to explain in physical terms, so I have used the word “condense” here. The ideogram for “light” that the channel wears around the neck in a bag is always connected with the source of light in my body and continues to supply divine radiation through the spiritual cord. A spiritual cord also connects me to the Boddhisatva Kannon, and thus I receive a limitless supply of light for the salvation of humanity.
The human body is composed of a trinity on the physical and spiritual levels and the healing method that utilizes this trinity is truth itself. The resulting healing energy that can be manifested is entirely without precedent. The explanation of these principles may be difficult to follow, but I do hope that a certain level of understanding can be gained.
