“Shinbunmei to wa Nani ka”

“Shinbunmei to wa Nani ka” is the title of a transcription of the speech that Meishu-sama delivered at the Hibiya Public Hall on May 22, 1951. The transcription remained unpublished while Meishu-sama was alive. Meishu-sama had prepared a manuscript for the speech but set it aside and spoke freely. Later, after the speech was over, he published the manuscript he had prepared for the May 22, 1953, talk under the title “Chijôtengoku o Tsukuru” in Eikô, Issue 108, June 3, 1951 [on this site, E26-104]. “Shinbunmei to wa Nani ka” has been published in English in a slightly abridged version The title is given below for reference.
