The Spiritual Composition of Human Beings
Every human being is accompanied in the spiritual world by guardian spirits who continually protect that human being. It is said that each human being is a child of God, a temple of God, and that is because, as previously described, the human being is commissioned by God, in other words, a human being possesses a part of divine spirit. This is the true guardian spirit, in other words, the primary spirit.
After birth, an animal spirit, called the secondary guardian spirit, or simply, the secondary spirit, attaches to a part of the human being. The animal spirits that possess are predominantly those such as the spirits of foxes, badgers, cats, horses, cows, monkeys, weasels, or it may be the spirit of a dragon or goblin, or that of some kind of bird. Usually, one animal spirit attaches to one human being, but in rare cases, two or three kinds of spirit may attach to an individual. Modern people will find the whole phenomenon of spirits, animal spirits, and animal spirits being attached to human beings impossible to believe and may derisively dismiss the idea, but through my many experiences, I have gained an unshakeable understanding of its reality, so it is impossible for me to deny.
Along the lines that were discussed above, the primary spirit is goodness; it is conscience. The secondary spirit is the opposite; it is evil, wicked. In Buddhism, conscience is called boddhicitta, the aspiration for enlightenment or the Buddha mind, and wickedness is called carnal desire or disturbing emotions.
In addition to the primary and secondary spirits I have described above, there is a main guardian spirit, or simply, guardian spirit. The guardian spirit is a spirit selected from among the spirits of the individual’s ancestors who protect the subject from birth. Of course, the guardian spirit is ordinarily a human spirit, but there are occasions of the assimilated spirit of a dragon, fox, goblin or some such. In my case, my secondary spirit is an aviary goblin and my guardian spirit is that of a divine dragon.
People often have experiences such as having been miraculously saved, getting some kind of hint or indication, receiving information in a dream, or experiencing some kind of premonition when they encounter danger, and so forth, and these are all due to the activity of the guardian spirit. When artists intent on a new creation or inventors involved with a new concept are deeply engaged, they may experience a sudden burst of inspiration, and these are also hints from the guardian spirit. Other occasions are such as when the correct desire of an individual comes to fruition or when someone receives material benefit through the exercise of faith, all of which come from God through the medium of the guardian spirit. Adages of old such as “sincerity reaches heaven” or “true sincerity reaches God” reflect occasions when God bestows blessings upon a person through the guardian spirit.Gospel of Heaven, page 321, February 5, 1947
