The Japan Kannon Church’s Creed

     The Lord Almighty God, the Creator who deigned to fashion the universe has been conducting since the very beginning, the great divine economy of manifesting on this earth heaven, paradise. We believe that for this purpose were created human beings as God’s deputies and that everything on earth was created for the use of human beings. We also believe that history until today has been a preparatory stage for the construction of that paradise. For each particular age, God has furnished the human beings necessary for that age to carry out missions in order to accomplish the divine purpose.
     One manifestation of the Creator, Boddhisattva Regarder of the Cries of the World, descended to the Buddhist world and under this name manifested into thirty-three aspects for the salvation of the world and humanity. At one time this manifestation appeared as the Tathagata of Divine Light, and then again, at another time, as Flexible Maitreya. Now, at the period of the great transition in the world, the time has come for the exertion of unlimited power for the salvation of the three worlds, divine, spiritual, and physical. At the dawn of this salvation, a world completely without disease, poverty, conflict will be established, and a divine light world of complete truth, virtue, beauty will be realized.
     We believe that Mokichi Okada, Counsel of the Japan Kannon Church, as a man of virtue, has been selected as deputy of the Boddhisattva Regarder of Cries for the salvation of humanity. We are thankful that we have been permitted to participate in this sacred task, and we aspire to exert our utmost efforts in accord with divine will.
