Religion Is Miracle
We know through many records that religion and miracles are inseparably related. A religion where no miracles happen cannot be called a true religion. However beautiful and elaborate its rituals may be, if the followers experience no miracles, we may say it has already lost its value as religion. It is God who performs miracles. Human can work no miracles.
When an unexpectedly wonderful result is gained in answer to one’s prayer, people generally call it a miracle. Through this kind of experience one may be led to deep heartfelt gratitude and faith, and is thereby saved from misery. By this we know the value of effective religion. One fact is better than a hundred theories.
In Japan since World War II, the tendency among the younger generation is to despise religion and to cater to unsound immoral thoughts. This is becoming a matter for deep concern. The over-emphasis on materialistic education is, I believe, responsible for this unfortunate trend. The problem of delinquency and demoralization in Japan and elsewhere will not be solved unless people of the world become conscious of this great misfortune.
I believe the only way to break down this trend to materialistic idealism is to awaken one and all to the existence of God. How can we do this? Nothing short of a miracle can achieve this end. If they see with their own eyes a seeming impossibility coming true, something which can hardly be explained by natural law—then all doubt and skepticism will vanish.
So we may say, “Religion is miracle; miracle is religion.” Peace of the world and establishment of a sound righteous society can be realized only when all people come to believe in God and spiritual culture is earthed.
For this age of great transition God has sent us His Divine Holy Light. And such an intense, magnificent Light it is. Never have mortals experienced such a light before. This is the Light which performs miracles. According to the revelation I received, God has sent this Light for the expressed purpose of awakening human souls—souls that are unmindful of His Existence—souls that cannot conceive of His Paradise on Earth.
Our Supreme God who has been working through the great masters of all time now shares directly with us this intense Divine Light to see us through this great transitional period, and by His Almighty Power. He will manifest greater miraculous works. Thus by the miracles performed through this Divine Light, God’s Plan of saving the world will be fulfilled and Paradise on Earth will be realized. The Glory, Number 018, page 2, November 10, 1957
