Strata in Spiritual Realm

Aug. 25, 1949

The spiritual realm is divided into many strata, as I explained before. There are three major divisions, upper, intermediate and lower, and each division is subdivided into three, being again subdivided into many smaller divisions. Each of these planes is of a different rate of vibration. The upper planes are of higher vibrations and the lower planes are those who vibrations are slow and weak. Above all there is the uttermost height of the highest vibration and this is known to only the Supreme God, the Creator of the Universe and Giver of all life.
Let me explain how the spiritual realm is connected with the human existence. A human being is composed of a visible physical body and an invisible spiritual body. This spiritual body is of the same size and form as the physical body. In the center of this spiritual body is the mind, and in the center of the mind is the soul. This soul is a God-given spirit, the seat of conscience, or conscience itself. The spiritual essence of this soul which may be called the spiritual nucleus is in the spiritual realm, dwelling in of these strata or divisions. This we call in Japanese the Yukon. This Yukon and the spiritual body are connected by an invisible spiritual cord. There is also a spiritual cord connecting the Yukon direct with God. Through this cord, every thing we do and think is conveyed to the Yukon and from thence to God, Himself.
Also when God gives an order to a certain individual, His Will is conveyed through the spiritual cord to the Yukon and from thence to the individual through the cord connected with him. Often when one has made certain plans and tries to carry them out, he will find himself being carried into an unexpected direction or encountering an unlooked-for misfortune.
When we ponder over such happenings, we cannot but realize the existence of an Invisible Spirit by which we are being guided and directed. I think all of us probably have had this experience. This is the Will of God being conveyed through the Yukon. In we are going in a direction contrary to God’s Will, however hard we may try we cannot succeed. The harder we try the worse it will become. That is why I always tell our members that they should think deeply on their conduct or thoughts and try to find out whether these are in accord with God’s Will. If there is any selfish interest or any evil motivation, this will hinder God’s Will from being conveyed. We may seem to succeed for a while, but in the end we will surely fail.
Thus when we plan to do something we should give it very careful consideration and subject it to close scrutiny as to whether the motive is good or not, or whether it will benefit mankind.
The interesting part of this is that should a man’s work be not in accord with God’s Will because of his adverse thinking and therefore should he fail, he suffers, and this suffering will disperse the cloud on his spiritual body to a certain degree. He will therefore become more purified and as the result of this he will come to have a better understanding and realize what he should do. Therefore, there will be more possibility of his succeeding with his next plans. We often see people who succeed after having first experienced failure many times, eventually attain outstanding success. The above explanation accounts for this.
Thus the only way to be fortunate and successful is to raise one’s Yukon higher in the spiritual realm. The position of the Yukon is never stationary; it is continually moving to a higher or a lower plane. The lighter is becomes the higher it ascends and vice versa.
