Is the BCG Vaccine Harmless or Harmful? (Eikô 130)

The cause for the genesis of the problems relating to the BCG vaccine are described in the editorial column of this newspaper, so a perusal there should provide readers with a good understanding, but it also happens that a report of an experience that well illustrates the issues has also come into our hands, so it is appended below. A reading of this testimonial will make the points more clear.

Is the BCG Vaccine Harmless or Harmful?

About ten years ago, we joined this inspiring World Messianity. At that time I understand that Johrei was called “treatment.” My mother is a fervent follower, and all three of us siblings, even at times of great purification, have depended on God and have been helped by Johrei which we always appreciate. When I was ten years old, with the assistance of my ancestors and mother (there is no father), I was able to attend the introductory course. Whether it was because I had a focal point, I do not know, but when I was evacuated from the city, I had to change schools often, but still I was always well treated by all. My studies were also always interesting. What was troubling about the purifications that I received once in a while was that I had to report illnesses to teachers and administrators, and there were times when I was called to be vaccinated. Since it was a bother to explain the reason why I did not want to be vaccinated, even though I knew it was bad, I was vaccinated twice with the toxic BCG vaccine because I was told I had no tuberculin response. How frightening it was! In about a week, my fingertips became swollen, there was fever in my legs between my knees and feet which also became very sore as if I had had deep burns. My face also started to swell and my whole body hurt. I was not able to go to school.  So saddened by my condition, my mother apologized every day to God. She washed the skin on the affected parts in plain hot water and gave me Johrei. It was just at that time that Rev. Naito visited us and also gave me Johrei. Among other things, Rev. Naito told me that the purification would last a rather long time. We knew of my mistakes and even though we apologized to God and to the reverend, mother summed up courage and told the minister in our charge about my condition. The minister said there was no reason why I could not be healed and went with me to visit the doctor. At that time, I had been receiving Johrei from the minister. To describe what happened at that time, the minister explained our position, and the doctor thought a while about the minister’s explanation, and then said that he could not accept that my condition was due to the vaccination. We then went to another doctor, a surgeon, who could not make a definite diagnosis but said, “I think this is a case of chronic xyz skin disease.” And then he added, “Still, it is healing quite rapidly.” Nothing was settled and we went home. Later, in a discussion between the minister and the doctor, it was decided I did not have to undergo vaccinations since my physical constitution did not seem to accept them. When I heard these words, I pressed my focal point to my chest and said to myself, “God, much obliged! This is indeed a blessing!” This occurred in the middle of June, but the scars were so deep, I thought I would not be able to wear a skirt that summer. With the minister’s Johrei, however, I rapidly became better, and now there are no scars and my skin is clear. How thankful I am! God did not blame us for our mistake and made me more beautiful than before.
Parent and children all, foolish as we are, do appreciate from the heart this blessing and will exert efforts to tell as many people as possible about the frightening aspects of medicine, drugs, and the preciousness of this salvation. I tell many people of my experience, even though I should have known better, of erroneous medical science. God, very much obliged. Please continue to bestow blessings upon us.
