Great Construction

The Word “Nerves”
Medical Science Fragments Fourteen

We often hear of doctors who tell their patients in effect, “The reason you feel pain or are uncomfortable is due to your nerves. You are not actually sick in any way.” What deserves serious consideration about such utterances is that to feel pain and be told one is not sick is indeed peculiar. If the condition were truly as the doctor says, that it is a matter of feeling pain while not being sick, then it must mean that it is the nerves that are diseased, so I say that a true medical science would heal the nerves as well.
